This jazz quartet has no categorization and the music is otherworldly. Meet Selcouth Quartet a band formed by jazz drummer Joe Russo. Russo has played with many bands both in rock and jazz fusion bands.

He decided to form Selcouth Quartet which features Stuart Bogie on saxophone, clarinet, and keys, Jon Shaw on acoustic and electric basses, Jonathan Goldberger on electric and acoustic guitars, and Joe Russo on drums and percussion. The group has been playing gigs around town for their self-titled EP released a few days ago. The music is experimental as well as ambient. Check out the songs “Before We’re Sunken” and “The Hidden People.” They recorded the album in Iceland which I say will account for the eclectic compositions.
