Miguel Atwood Ferguson

THE JAZZ CAFE

November 12, 2023

There is something dreamy about jazz artist Miguel Atwood Ferguson. His music is at times atmospheric or can join both jazz and classical. He started taking violin lessons at age 4 since both his parents were musical and it was his destiny to be a musician.

He says he has too many musical influences to mention but to name a few, Chopin, Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, John Coltrane, and more. This violinist and multi-instrumentalist has been featured in over 600 recordings from artists that encompass a range of music genres. Miguel Atwood Ferguson does not limit himself and you can hear all these influences in his recordings. He made his debut in 2011 with the album, ‘Suite for Ma Dukes' and has released several albums since then.

He just released his latest, Les Jardins Mystiques Vol 1 and I’m already in love with the album. Check out songs, ‘Ano Yo’ which reminds me of jazz electro-violin player Jean Luc Ponty and the classical stylings of ‘Airavata’. He is set to tour for the album and we hope he comes to NYC for some dates. Support independent music and musicians. Happy listening!
