When you first hear of The Japanese House you may think it’s a restaurant, bar, or club but no it's actually singer-songwriter Amber Mary Bain. This English Indie pop singer from Buckinghamshire, U.K. is a multi-instrumentalist who has been playing music since she was a teenager. She owes her love of music to her dad who is a musician and taught her how to play.
This singer-songwriter doesn’t like to be much in the public eye which adds to her mystique. Her androgynous voice and great music have fans enamored and have been following her since her debut in 2015. Her single “Still” which was produced by Matt Healy of the band The 1975, had some folks thinking it was his side project due to the sound of the vocals. She released her EP Pools To Bathe In 2015 to critical acclaim. She has released a few more EPs and made her album debut in 2019 with Good At Falling.
She describes herself as a “modern-day, more depressing ABBA.” Her melodies are dreamy and reminiscent of her musical influences such as Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons, Brian Wilson, and Blondie. She just released her new single, “Sunshine Baby” with her new album that will drop on June 30th titled In The End It Always Does. Check out this great singer-songwriter and support independent music and musicians worldwide. Happy listening!
