This talented singer-songwriter may seem familiar to you. He has been on America's Got Talent wowing audiences with his voice and fashion statements. Meet Sheldon Riley, real name Sheldon Hernandez from Gold Coast, Australia. He says growing up he didn't really have any real idols to look up to. It's the reason he dresses so glamorously because he wants kids out there that want to be singers or in fashion to maybe see themselves in him. He grew up in a very religious family and says that there were a lot of restrictions, certain music or films were frowned upon. Sheldon Riley who is part Filipino had some difficulty while growing up because of his sexual identity. In 2015 he decided to come out and although he lost many friends, his parents and sister have stuck by him and are his source of support. He makes his own stage outfits and has been releasing his songs via streaming services.
He has already caught the attention of several celebrities in the industry such as Boy George and others. Pop music is his genre but he can also sing some soulful songs with amazing conviction. Last year he recorded a cover of Billy Eilish's song, Idontwannabeyouanymore to amazing reviews and followers on Youtube and Instagram. He is active in the LBGTQ community and doesn't believe a person should be judged on their preferences. He recently teamed up with Lance Victor Moore who is Lady Gaga's mask maker, together they created his costumes and masks for his music video and song, Left Broken.
